Iowa Pharmacy Technician State Requirements – Board of Pharmacy Technician Guidelines states the following requirements for becoming a pharmacy technician (this state requires two applications, a trainee application and a certification application):
-Complete pharmacy technician TRAINEE application within 30 days of starting any hands-on training inside a pharmacy (ie, through educational hours required by your program or starting a job), pay $22 fee
-Complete national certification (ie, PTCB or ICPT) within one year of submitting TRAINEE application
-After completing above requirements, complete pharmacy technician CERTIFICATION application, pay $55 fee
