Alaska Pharmacy Technician State Requirements – The Alaska Board of Pharmacy Application Page states the following requirements for becoming a pharmacy technician:
-Complete the Alaska Board of Pharmacy Technician Application
* NOTE – the application must be signed by you and notarized.
-Obtain a high school diploma or equivalent
-Pay application/license fee of $120 – This includes a $60 nonrefundable application fee and a $60 technician license fee.
– To maintain your license, 10 hours of Continuing Education (CE) are required every two years.
-Prior to working as a pharmacy technician, the technician shall complete training by the pharmacist in charge of the pharmacy
-Prior to compounding in sterile preparations, the technician will undergo a minimum of 40 hours of on-the-job training for sterile preparation technique.
