Minnesota Pharmacy Technician State Requirements – Board of Pharmacy Technician Guidelines states the following requirements for becoming a registered pharmacy technician:
-Complete application and pay $35 application fee
-Complete a board approved, ASHP approved, military, or employer based (240 hour) pharmacy technician training program
-If at least one pharmacy technician on duty per pharmacist is PTCB or other recognized national certification, then the ratio is increased by one (i.e., 3:1)

Online/Correspondence Pharmacy Technician Training Programs – Due to approved training program requirements, online schools do not qualify by themselves, an employer can use one to meet the requirements for their employer based (240 hour) training program.
