  1. Hi Rob,

I finished a pharmacy tech program at IUPUI. How can I find out if that training program will be accepted in Illinois?

    • Hi Yolande,

My guess is they do qualify. Here is the wording: ". . .approved by a nationally recognized accrediting body." The Illinois Board of Professional Licensing does not specify which national accrediting body, and most schools are accredited. Here is the Illinois Board's phone number, I would call and verify: 217-782-8556.

      Best of luck, -Rob

  2. Hi Rob,

So does the NHA exam count for Illinois? I've just finished up with the Ashworth program.

    • Hi Paula,
Yes, the ExCPT exam was created by the ICPT, which has since become part of the NHA. Illinois does recognize both the ExCPT and the PTCB for the national certification component of their requirements.

  3. You need to update your list of schools, Northwestern and St. Xavier do not have a pharmacy tech program
